Rob – I never thought to read the words Rachmaninoff and Beecham in the same sentence let alone listen to a performance!
Did Beecham conduct any other Rachmaninoff do you know?
It will be interesting to listen to both these recordings in full when Biddulph put us in their debt again later in the year.
I can’t think any Edward thought I can’t believe that throughout his long career he didn’t accompany at least one of the concertos. Symphonies, though – never heard of anything other than this Third premiere. Best. Rob
What a shame that Beecham abandoned this work so quickly. this extract of the recording suggests a wonderful performance!

Not sure what I think from the extract Paul. Can’t wait to hear the whole thing.

It will be most interesting if the whole recording is released, isthere any chance of this?

It’s due out on Biddulph Paul (in May), coupled with The Bells under Sir Henry Wood.
